Crossing Midnight Wins Humanitarian Award and is Slated for Theatrical Run in NYC
In the wake of a successful theatrical documentary showcase tour, BeCause Foundation's newest film release, Crossing Midnight, has been tapped for the IDA's Docuweek program for short documentaries. A highly selective program, DocuWeek was developed to give deserving filmmakers an opportunity to qualify for Oscar consideration by providing theatrical platforms where their films can be seen. Crossing Midnight will screen for one week at the IFC Center in New York City this summer - stay tuned for dates.
Crossing Midnight recently screened at the US Campaign For Burma's annual meeting in DC, at the prestigious Aspen ShortsFest, and at the Cleveland Film Festival where it won the Jesse Epstein Humanitarian Award. BeCause launched a series of screenings throughout the US beginning in June on World Refugee Day in attempts to raise awareness about refugees from Burma, now the fastest growing refugee group right here in the US.
