One Bridge to the Next moves one foundation to fund international Street Medicine Institute

As a direct result of the BeCause film One Bridge to the Next, a leading U.S. pharmaceutical company has donated $500,000 to sponsor the Street Medicine Institute, dedicated to creating curriculum to advance the emerging - and desperately needed -- field of street medicine, which is addressing the health problems of America's 1+ million homeless. Being on the street often means no access to public healthcare resources or preventative medicine. Dctors like Jim Withers, grassroots organizations, and individual health care professionals are navigating the system to help. The Institute sponsors symposia and events around the country, and sponsors an online forum and other critical resources to outreach and upstart programs specializing in Street Medicine.
