The U.S. Department of State Honors One Bridge to the Next as Part of the American Documentary Showcase

One Bridge to the Next, a BeCause Foundation film, has been selected by the U.S. Department of State to be showcased in 30 countries around the globe as a part of its American Documentary Showcase.

The Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs launched the Showcase in April 2009, with its debut in the Czech Republic. Here, One Bridge to the Next was screened alongside 25-30 award-winning documentaries from U.S. filmmakers. The tour continues throughout this year and will make stops in countries from Iraq to Ecuador, from Kenya to Vietnam.

As part of the program, the filmmakers themselves, including BeCause's Kim Snyder, will be traveling as well, conducting workshops and other outreach programming at documentary festivals, U.S. Embassy organized programs, and other events.

BeCause is thrilled to be awarded such an honor, and applauds our fellow filmmaking community for elevating the awareness of cultural, social, political, and environmental topics through the medium of film. Stay tuned to hear more about the screenings throughout the rest of the year.

You can learn more about the showcase at the American Documentary Showcase Website.
